Both of them are compatible with ISO100 and ISO600 film. 670α offers the diversity because of its sensitivity towards different lighting condition, simply adjust the L/D dial to use different films without additional accessories. 670m requires you to manually adjust the shutter speed on the Time Machine according to your shooting environment to go with different ISO film.

Q. Will there ever be a Time Machine for the regular SX-70?
A. That's not possible. In regular SX70, the flash sockets are just connectors to trigger the flash using a simple signal. We had to redesign the whole SX70 motherboard to make the flash socket work as a "port" to send more complex signals. So that's why the Time Machine can only communicate with 670m.
